Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another,
"What! You too? I thought I was the only one."
-C.S. Lewis
Doesn't that quote just say it all? There is nothing like when you find someone who you can relate to. That type of friendship is so invaluable to feeling connected in this great big world. This is the magic I've discovered from reaching out through blogging and offering my e-course.
Several weeks ago I got the pleasure to meet one of my on-line friends in person. I love when this happens! I am so very grateful for the opportunities to connect to so many amazing souls from all over the world. Thank you, Internet!
Lynnette took my Inside Out e-course and we've been friends ever since. She happened to be traveling through my area on her family road trip and they made a special trip to my home.
Thank you, Lynnette (and your family), for your visit. Your support, kindness and friendship have so enriched my life!
My new Internet friend, Stephanie, made this beautiful butterfly clutch just for one of YOU. It can be used as a wristlet style purse or an e-reader case. For your chance to win a spot, simply leave a comment on this post by Sunday morning. (I'll announce a winner that day.)
AND, check out Hip Mountain Mama's Thankful Giveaway for another chance to win a gift card at their lovely store!
Your Personal Reflection: Do you have a favorite blogger or a friend you've connected with through the Internet? Thank them today!
I love the quote Shannon; it is so very true. I have 'met' so many wonderful women since I started to blog! I live in the middle of no where and have no close neighbors, so the internet has become my little [big] neighborhood. Lori from Lorix5 has been someone I have really connected with, we are about the same age, each has 5 children, and have a love of knitting although she has a lot more skill than I do! :) xx
ReplyDeleteYour kindness and friendship is nourishing and a joy. =)
ReplyDeleteI think signing up for different challenges - especially longer running ones (like the 30 Days of Giving Thanks or Art Every Day Month) - are great ways to connect with others with whom you share similar interests.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many inspiring people who blog and who share their photos on Flickr who you would never run into because they live in a different state - or even country.
What a gift and inspiration to be able to connect through the internet!
The felted heart is gorgeous and so is the quote. I love that we can reach out through our computers and touch and connect with other people!! And people who are already predisposed to accepting us just because of our shared interests. The creative community is full of some of the most awesome, caring, inspiring and supportive men and women I have ever not met yet!! Thank you for sharing so much with us and thanks for offering that beautiful bag as a giveaway!!

Good luck everyone!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks to each of you for stopping by. I'm excited to give this darling clutch away, however, I wish I could enter myself. :)
ReplyDeleteFavorite blogger. You are one of them Shannon! I had the great experience to arrive in the town I just moved from. While there I was in a contemplative gathering and for the first time met in person someone who I have been following for several years through Owning Pink. What a great experience. When we introduced ourselves to the new group it came my turn and I excitedly said: I'm "the" Debbie Baker you've been responding too! and looked right at her. The whole group caught the excitement. How Fun! And who would have thought? A person from the west coast traveled to the east coast and stopped on the way back in the heart of the nation. And so we met in person. Any thing is possible!
ReplyDeletethis is so awesome shannon, i love that you got to meet your friend, and i totally agree that there is something completly magical about it.
ReplyDeletei have been so SO lucky too, to have made wonderful connections in this land of blogs. tracey (and you) are among those i count. bless!
So cool that some of you have also gotten to meet some of your on-line pals in person! LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteAnd Debbie...YOU are the winner of our random winner for the drawing!! I say "our" because I let my 3 year old pick the winner out of the jar this time. Email me so I can get you in touch with Stephanie.
