Many of the past Inside Out explorers and me are starting a green smoothie challenge today. We signed up here where we'll receive free inspiration for the next 14 days. Then, we'll share how we feel on our private class community. I did one of these last year and I loved the way it made me feel. (Talk about energy...)

Here's the smoothie I started with today. Don't be scared - it's so good! (And my 3 year old loves it, too.)
Green Banana Smoothie
6 large romaine leaves
2 bananas
2 cups of water
Put all the ingredients in a high-powered blender until smooth. Drink and enjoy!

ReplyDeleteMy smoothie today was 1/2 banana, a handful of spinach, some coconut oil, water and plain yogurt! So good! and Happy Spring!!
ReplyDeleteA good large calorie (600-750) base for green smoothies is:
ReplyDelete1 1/2- 2 cups water
2-3 bananas
1 mango
6-8 1inch pieces frozen fruit or berries
1 entire head of greens.
This smoothie is a great meal replacement smoothie. And will give you about 40 oz of smoothie. While smoothies are extremely healthy for you most people do not get the proper calorie intake while on a smoothie diet/cleanse. Also if you eat unnatural high fat content foods during other meals then the true power of the smoothie gets lost. - Happy Smoothie

ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU for this post -- I joined the challenge -- though really, just as a motivation to drink it daily... I had just gotten out of the habit. We started today -- I'm going to have to make 2 blenders full daily -- my family (husband + two 4 1/2 year olds) are enjoying them with me... Thanks for the reminder!
