Summer Days

Family Photo Summer 2011

I like these kind of days.
Let's have these kind of days forever.
-Kestan, age 3 1/2

I haven't been blogging much because summer activities with the family are taking up most of my days and by the time the boys heads finally hit the pillow my energy is zapped.  I'm having a blast reading, playing, making art and going on adventures, but as any mom knows, the heat and long days of summer can be downright draining.  Walking, running, a bike ride or two (alone!), massage, restorative yoga and planning an art night out with my friends, have all helped me clear my thoughts and regain some much needed nourishment.

And taking time for my own personal wellness helps me wake up with a smile on my face and ready to do it all over again each and every day.  My boys make me laugh. They amaze me.  They remind me to not take life so seriously.  And they are just so dang fun to be around.

You don't really understand human nature unless you know why a child on a merry-go-round will wave at his parents every time around - and why his parents will always wave back.
-William D. Tammeus

This quote made me tear up because Ashton has learned "bye bye" and repeating this action with him over and over brings us the greatest amount of joy!  He is changing so fast and I just don't want to miss a second of it.

So I'm taking a quick break to let you know that registration for Inside Out: A Creative Adventure of Self-Discovery e-course opens August 1st (course runs September 12 - October 14th).  And Mothering with heART e-course creation is fully underway (course runs October 17th - December 2).  I'll share more details about both courses very soon.

Also, my site is undergoing a new look with help from A Girl Named Fred and I'll be sharing those changes with you this fall.

I gotta run.  The boys are calling me back to the merry-go-round!  Until next time...

Your Personal Reflection:  What fun things have you been doing this summer (or winter depending on what part of the world you live in)!

  5. Gorgeous babes! I can't believe how much Ashton has grown already! My nine year old went on school camp today for three days and as we waved each other goodbye through the coach window my heart lurched at how grown she was that she could go off for a few days without me! I'll miss her but she'll have a fab time. Just me and little man at home (until hubbie returns from long shifts.

    Enjoy your summer days!
    Big hugs
